Board member and Councillor at Milan Town Council from 1956 to 1967. The first President of the regional council of Lombardy from 1970 to 1974 , Member of Parliament from 1976 to 1982, from 1982 to 1997 he was the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture in Milan as well as President of the Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce (Unioncamere) from 1983 to 1992.
