Within the Digital Agenda for Europe Project the the Community of Practice 4th plenary meeting will take place in Brussels on March 13th.

A multifaceted programme has been drawn up for the upcoming meeting. It will first feature presentations and discussions on SR/CR in the new political landscape. Opening speakers include Marianne Klingbeil, Deputy Secretary-General of the Commission, to be followed by three break-out sessions providing participants with an insight on the Principles’ relevance to B2B processes, the British Retail Consortium’s framework for voluntary regulations, and on the “Responsible Nano Code”, a business code of conduct for the responsible development and use of nano materials.

Bassetti Foundation foreign Correspondent Jonathan Hankins will chair the The Responsible Nano Code session.

The session will consider the lessons for emerging technology governance from the Responsible Nano Code, a business Code of Conduct for the responsible development and use of nanomaterials. Panel members include Dr Steffi FRIEDRICHS, Director, Nanotechnology Industries Association, Dr David SANTILLO, Lead scientist, Emerging technologies, Greenpeace (tbc) and Hilary SUTCLIFFE, Director, MATTER.
