Luigi Colombo is a lawyer who carries out his professional activity in Milan, for an international law firm, after having gained work experience both within Italian public structures and in international contexts and also within the university world.
Always attentive to the evolution of customs and characteristics of personal and social relationships conferred by different civilizations, he has tried to understand the comparison between different cultures by seeking the meaning for their protagonists.
Along this path, he has been able to consider and elaborate reflections not only on the challenges but also on the richness of contents inherent in innovation. This latter is a phenomenon capable of raising fundamental questions which call for essential answers in order to set up an adequate discipline for the impact that such innovation can have on the coexistence of people.
Among his interests towards the phenomena of building civilizations, Luigi has constantly combined his professional practice, mainly focused on topics regarding the business world and corporate structures, with a deep attention to the world generally framed as non-profit, paying particular attention to his interventions related to social and cultural issues.
In order to actually pursue these objectives, he has made contributions within healthcare structures, both operationally on an organizational level and by helping the field of research. Luigi has been called upon to hold institutional positions in Foundations and Associations active in the protection and valorization of Italy’s social and cultural heritage, with a view to its proper use that can be adequately functional to the ‘inheritance’ for the future generations.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano for many years and served on the Lombardy Regional Committees for the evaluation of experiments of public-private relations in healthcare, the Lombardy Regional Committee for the evaluation of the Civil Society Partnership and other public structures.
At present, in addition to his role as a member of the Foundation’s Committee of Guarantors, he is national vice-president of the Italia Nostra Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Amplifon Foundation, a consultant to the Lombardy Regional Foundation for Biomedical Research and other structures dedicated to the preservation and development of excellence in research and culture in various fields.
