As the President for the Andean Region, Bassetti oversees industrial activities in Colombia, Ecuador, Perù, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana e Suriname and Central America
Based in Cartagena, he leads a team of 1,200 colleagues and an industrial system that includes one coupling shop, two ERW mills, one heat treatment line, one slotting line and four threading lines, one multilayer coating facility, and four service centers designed to support the Tenaris RigDirect® service.
After starting his career with extended experience in consulting, initially at Ernst & Young Consultant (Los Angeles and Milan) and later at AT Kearney Consultants (Milan), Andrea Bassetti has been working at Tenaris since 2002.
He has held various roles in IT, Strategic Planning, Operations, and Sales within the company. In the sales department, he has taken on increasing responsibilities, progressing from Director of OCTG Sales in Argentina, to Director of OCTG Sales for Continental Europe and, more recently, Vice-President of OCTG Sales for Europe, CIS, the Mediterranean, and Africa. This position also entails supervising production units in the countries under his responsibility.
For the Techint group – that includes Tenaris, Terniun, Tecpetrol – Bassetti serves as the coordinator for the Institutional Relations in the regions he is currently oversees.<
Active in associative contexts, he is currently a Member of the Board of trustees with Giannino Bassetti Foundation, which promotes innovation in both private and public companies.
Accustomed to multicultural environments, Bassetti has worked in various geographical areas and corporate locations, ranging from Buenos Aires to Milan and from Bucharest to Lugano.
Born in Milan on 1971, after completing an International Baccalaureate Diploma, he obtained a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Catholic University of Milan. He further enhanced his managerial skills through Executive Courses on Energy and Management at Oxford (UK) and Stanford Business School (USA).
