The second annual Front End of Innovation Europe conference takes place from 28th to 31st of January 2008 at the Hilton Hotel in Vienna Austria. This is a large conference offering over fifty presentations from a broad spectrum of industries.
The goal of the conference is stated as “Advancing the knowledge and practice of global innovation” and the organisers claim that “the Front end of Innovation advisory board determined today’s most desired innovation topics that address your existing and future business challenges”.
Conference participants come from a wide range of industries such as aerospace, technology, communications, energy and finance but also include authors, academics and thought leaders.
The event is organised into key note speeches, half day workshops and breakout sessions, and further divided into categories such as breakthrough innovation, service innovation, green innovation and design thinking. These sessions are lead by company representatives, one of whom is from Tom Tom the satellite navigation company and relates to an innovation and responsibility issue previously raised on this website.
Key note speakers include Kyell Ac Bergstrom, an expert in the development of bio-power technology, Robert Shelton, co-author of Making Innovation Work, Dr Peter Geppert, managing director of LG Electronics and Simon Woodroffe OBE, founder of YO! The website is thorough and well organised and also offers access to various blogs, white paper downloads and other on-line resources as well as offering membership to the innovators community.
